If you’re looking to start from the beginning, you’ve come to the right place. Let us know what your interests are, and we’ll build a learning plan that revolves around it. We’ll take you through the basics and help you get started in learning what you love most about Japan.
As we get started, there are certain things that you should expect from our beginner class. This class is a one-on-one online class with a native Japanese instructor that will get you started on your learning journey.
Over the span of around 8 weekly classes, you will learn the following:

- Greetings & Introductions
- Common Vocabulary
1. Hiragana/Katakana ひらがな・カタカナ
Hiragana is a set of characters used to represent the sounds of the Japanese language. Hiragana is indispensable for basic Japanese expression because it represents all sounds. Hiragana characters are curved in shape and appears gentle.
Katakana is another set of characters used to represent Japanese sounds. Katakana is used primarily to represent foreign words, proper nouns, scientific terms, and onomatopoeic words. Katakana has an angular shape, giving it a more linear appearance than hiragana.
